Zinedine Zidane Discusses Cesc Fabregas Real Madrid Transfer Links: One of the clubs linked with a move for Cesc Fabregas was Real Madrid but boss Zinedine Zidane admits it would be difficult to fit Cesc Fabregas into his squad at the Bernabeu, while he refused to rule out the prospect of bringing in new faces before the close of the transfer window later this month.

Madrid have only bought one new player, striker Alvaro Morata, this summer, despite being linked with several players over the course of the past few months. The latest name to be linked with the European champions is Cesc Fabregas, whose future at Chelsea is unclear after he was left out of Antonio Conte’s starting XI against West Ham on Monday night.

Zidane was asked possible transfers and the Spain international after Real Madrid’s friendly win against Stade de Reims on Tuesday and replied: “We are going to wait for the 31st [of August]. I don’t think we will be bringing players in. The squad is complete, but anything can happen. I am happy with the squad, with the players we have and that is that.

“If you want to put another central midfielder into the mix then it becomes complicated. Cesc [Fabregas] is a great player but it is not very straightforward. I am going to end up with a squad where three or four players do not get selected. To therefore put another player in there makes it difficult.”
