#TheVoiceNigeria Finale: A’rese Takes Home The Crown

#TheVoiceNigeria finale entered its final day, today the 31st of July and it was no less entertaining as the glitz and glamour reached its peak. At the end of electrifying performances, 28-year-old stage actress Agharese Emokpae who is better known by her stage name A’rese emerged the winner of the very first season of #TheVoiceNigeria.

The show commenced with the final 8 contestants from the four teams of #Team2baba, #TeamWaje, #TeamTimi and #TeamPatoranking taking the stage. The contestants set the tone for an electrifying final as all 8 of them brought their A-game to the finals. The team performances were a major highlight with Waje, 2Baba, Patoranking and Timi Dakolo performing alongside their top 2 team members.

It was announced that one contestant from each of the team will make it into the top four andA’rese, Chike, Brenda and Cornel made the cut. Brenda and Cornel dropped out of the running soon after leaving A’rese and Chike to battle for top spot.

The final two gave splendid performances with A’rese singing Halleluyah by Jeff Buckly and Chike performing “Mama” by Kiss Daniel. It was a tough call for the judges, viewers and audience but at the end of the nail biting finale, A’rese walked away with the winners crown of the season one of #TheVoiceNigeria.

The winner is no stranger to the arts as she comes from an artistic and creative family. She has been doing music performances at theatres since she graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2010. She has also featured in artistic productions relating to musicals in the United States of America and Nigeria.

The first season was a beautiful and interesting one. It is our hope that we will see the contestants release great music while we look forward to season 2 of the show.
