Manchester United Considering Bid For Leonardo Bonucci
Manchester United are understood to be exploring the possibility of signing Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, according to Manchester Evening News.
Jose Mourinho is keen on strengthening his defence this summer and is thought to have identified the Italy international.
With United also intent on signing Paul Pogba, however, the likelihood of signing Bonucci too appears to be slim after Alvaro Morata returned to Real Madrid.
City manager Pep Guardiola is keen to continue his revamp of the Sky Blues squad with the addition of a top class defender with Juventus informing the Manchester clubs £50million is the asking price.
However, whether United are prepared to shell out another massive sum on a centre-back after just announcing the arrival of £30million Eric Bailly remains unclear.
Mourinho has warned United fans to be patient with youngster Bailly and may feel 29-year-old Bonucci would be an excellent mentor for the youngster.
