Katsina Lawmaker reportedly attacked by angry youths in his constituency over alleged favouritism on employment slot
A Member of the House of Representatives from Katsina State, Danlami Mohammed Kurfi, escaped mob action in Kurfi town over alleged favouritism on employment offers to his constituents.
According to Daily Trust, trouble started when the lawmaker, representing Dutsin-ma/Kurfi Federal Constituency of Katsina State on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) was in Kurfi on a condolence visit over the weekend, when the youths reportedly attacked him while chanting many unprintable words.
It took the intervention of some elders and youths who barricaded the lawmaker to whisk him to safety.
It was gathered that some youths felt “cheated” in the recent employment slots the lawmaker secured for the area and therefore resorted to violence.
