In an interview with Billboard and W magazine, the Roc Nation signee said Kevin Garret, an amazing writer who co-wrote Beyonce’s  “Pray You Catch Me” from Lemonade album presented “U Don’t Know” to her.

Justine loved the Chris Loco produced song immediately. The producer behind some of  Emeli Sandé, Tinie Tempah, and Rita Ora’s songs.

“U Don’t Know” was written in the 21-year-old’s home country Jamaica which made the song a perfect choice for her. Also her love for Afrobeats and friendship with Wizkid made it easy to bring him into the song.

She said:

Kevin Garret is an amazing songwriter who co-wrote “Pray You Catch Me” on Beyoncé’s album Lemonade.

He came to me, played this song and I felt like it fit what we are doing on the album.

He’s super super dope…. Everyone was so proud, oh my god.

And we’ve been meaning to get to the studio and get something done, and so finally we have this song.

I’m Jamaican so it was like, Oh my god, perfect vibes. I’m also really in love with Afrobeats music.

I met Wizkid and we’ve wanted to work with each other for a long time, and I just felt like it was the right thing to get him on the song.

It was just the right vibe, you know, it’s Jamaica meets Africa, reggae meets Afrobeats.
